Workplace Safety Resources
Call 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY for chemical spills, fire and medical emergencies. If safe to do so, call from a university phone or if using a cell phone alert the dispatcher that you are on The Ohio State University’s Columbus campus.
Report all chemical spills and fires to Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) at 614-292-1284.
Call the University Police at 614-292-2121 for explosions, bomb threats, and suspicious parcels & objects.

Fire Drill (Annual)
If you cannot participate, then you must give your name, building, room number, and reason to the Building Emergency Coordinator. During the fire drill you must:
- Compartmentalize (close the door to your office or lab),
- Have a fire extinguisher handy,
- Have a way to communicate (cell phone or landline phone), and
- Have a way to get out.
