Strategic Priority for People and Culture:
Intentionally support a dynamic culture that is welcoming, supportive and collaborative.
1 Increase recruitment and retention efforts to ensure faculty and staff represent the population of Ohio.
- Develop targeted recruitment campaigns and partnerships with organizations that serve marginalized communities.
- Reduce disparity of racial and gender minorities of staff as compared to our student population.
- Create new and connect employees to existing mentorship programs and professional development opportunities.
2 Foster the sense of well-being, community and belonging for faculty, staff and students.
- Continue regular community-building events and activities that encourage interaction across all college constituencies.
- Establish new and strengthen existing wellness programs focusing on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s 10 dimensions of wellness.
- Promote processes and behaviors that support organizational efficiency.
- Strengthen spaces that support opportunities for various communities within the college.
3 Connect and engage alumni.
- Create opportunities for alumni to mentor current students and share their professional experiences.
- Highlight alumni achievements and stories in college publications and social media.
4 Model and live our shared values.
- Integrate shared values into everyday practices, policies, decision-making processes and recognition programs.
- Provide training and development programs that educate about and emphasize the importance of the college’s shared values.
5 Prioritize communications that tell stories of our discoveries, innovations and achievements.
- Recognize and celebrate accomplishments of faculty, staff and students.
- Prioritize relevant and informative content that generates engagement and enhances reputation.
