Overview
The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy Academic Fellowship program is designed for postdoctoral scholars pursuing a career in pharmacy academia or other education-focused professions. This 1-2 year program recruits individuals with a doctoral degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field. This includes entry-level pharmacists without postgraduate training, pharmacists with completed postgraduate training, and practicing pharmacists seeking academic experience.
During their time in the fellowship, participants gain formal mentored teaching experience, unique research opportunities, service to the college and profession, and professional development support. Clinical precepting opportunities are available for pharmacists as appropriate.

Goals & Objectives
Upon completion of the fellowship, participants will gain competencies in teaching, research/scholarship, pharmacy practice (if applicable), and professional development/service, as outlined below:
- Teaching
- Establish critical skillsets of a post-secondary educator with evidence-based teaching techniques in didactic and experiential (if applicable) environments.
- Complete a Teaching Certificate and/or alternative enhancement to teaching skillset.
- Research/Scholarship
- Develop or enhance a scholarly line of inquiry.
- Disseminate research findings at the College of Pharmacy Research Day and/or an additional professional platform (i.e., publication in peer-reviewed journal and/or conference).
- Pharmacy Practice (if applicable)
- Contribute to the practice enterprise of the College of Pharmacy.
- Advance the individual’s personal pharmacy practice skillset and apply that experience in the service of teaching.
- Service and Professional Development
- Gain experience with higher education governance through involvement in an academic division and/or college committee.
- Engage with university resources, networks, and professional organization(s) to enhance professional and personal development.
Salary & Benefits
Fellows receive a competitive salary and a full benefits package. Scholars will additionally be supported with travel/professional development funds.
Application & Fellow Selection Process
Requirements: A doctoral degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field. A successful candidate will possess a strong skillset in the following: knowledge of medicine science and/or contemporary drug issues; ability to communicate information to students in a learning environment; organizational and project management skills; the ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders at once; and motivation to learn and leverage evidence-based teaching and learning strategies in the classroom.

Current Fellows

Brittney Mize, PhD
Current Fellow
Dr. Mize obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Otterbein University in 2018 in addition to her AYA Life Science Ohio Teaching License in 2021. She obtained her PhD in Pharmaceutical Science under the supervision of Dr. James Fuchs at The Ohio State University in 2023. Her dissertation research focused on analogue development and target identification of natural products with anti-ovarian cancer activity in addition to synthetic design of novel CDK9 degraders. Dr. Mize was awarded The Ohio State Presidential Fellowship in 2018 and has presented her research in several local and national conferences. In addition to her past focus on medicinal chemistry research, she also completed her Inclusive Teaching Endorsement from the Drake Institute in 2022 and taught Organic Chemistry at Otterbein University in 2023-2024. Her current focus is on investigating and supporting chemical literacy in the College of Pharmacy undergraduate and PharmD populations.

Josie Silvaroli, PhD
Current Fellow
Dr. Silvaroli received her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 2024 and currently serves as a second-year academic fellow. Her graduate studies focused on discovering druggable targets for acute kidney injury. Dr. Silvaroli enjoys teaching STEM to students of all backgrounds and wants to extend STEM education through community outreach.
Past Fellows
Hannah Pangallo, PharmD
Fellow, 2024-2025
Dr. Pangallo completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati before joining the fellowship program. She is currently serving as a pharmacist at Gifthealth.

Colin Louderback, PharmD
Fellow, 2023-2025
Dr. Louderback graduated from the PharmD Program at Ohio State’s College of Pharmacy in Spring of 2023. After completing this fellowship, Dr. Louderback now serves as a Specialist in Poison Information at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Megan Brelage Kroh, PharmD
Fellow, 2022-2024
Dr. Kroh earned her PharmD in 2022 from Purdue University. After graduation, she completed this Academic Fellow at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Currently, Dr. Kroh is an anticoagulation pharmacist at Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Jared Repas, PharmD
Fellow, 2022-2024
Dr. Repas joined the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in the Summer of 2022 as an Academic Fellow following the completion of his PharmD degree from the University of Toledo. Dr. Repas currently is a pharmacy leader at Kroger in Columbus, Ohio.

T’Bony Jewell, PharmD, MBA
Fellow, 2021-2023
Dr. Jewell earned her Doctor of Pharmacy and MBA from The Ohio State University in 2017. She returned to complete the academic fellowship after spending several years in practice. Currently, Dr. Jewell, is an Assistant Professor of Social and Administrative Sciences at the Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University.

Victoria Williams, PharmD, BCCCP
Fellow, 2021-2022
Dr. Williams earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Ohio State before completing Post-Graduate Year 1 training at the University of Tennessee Medical Center and Post-Graduate Year 2 training in critical care at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Upon completion of residency training, Dr. Williams returned to her alma mater for this academic fellowship. At the conclusion of her fellowship training, Dr. Williams joined the faculty at Ohio State. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy where she functions as shared faculty between the College of Pharmacy and the Wexner Medical Center.
