Dr. David Matthews receives P3 Teacher of the Year Award
On April 21, David Matthews, PharmD '13, BCACP, assistant dean of PharmD studies and associate professor of practice, was presented with the P3 Teacher of the Year Award during a surprise visit in 240 Riffe classroom.
Dr. Matthews had already planned to enter the classroom early that morning to administer a survey to the P3 students. To his surprise, Nicole Kwiek, PhD, senior associate dean for academic affairs and educational innovation and clinical professor, had gathered the P3 students' attention and announced Dr. Matthew's award.
This annual award, voted on by the P3 students, honors the hard work and dedication of a third-year PharmD educator. Dr. Matthews continues to exemplify the highest standards at the College of Pharmacy.
This marks the second time he's received the P3 Teacher of the Year Award, having first received it in 2021. Earlier this month, Dr. Matthews was presented with the prestigious Provost's Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer.
