Dr. David Matthews receives Provost's Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer

David Matthews, PharmD, BCACP, assistant dean of PharmD Studies and associate professor of practice, was presented with the Provost's Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer during a surprise visit on April 8 in 233 Parks Hall. 

Delivering the surprise to Dr. Matthews were Deanna L. Kroetz, PhD, BS Pharm '85, dean and professor; Kristin Casper, PharmD, chair of the division of pharmacy education and innovation and professor - clinical; and Helen Malone, PhD, vice provost for faculty affairs. Other members of the College of Pharmacy, such as faculty, staff and students, joined in celebrating his achievement. 

Dr. Matthews is one of six recipients across the university awarded the 2026 Provost’s Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer. This award is given to members of the Ohio State community who go above and beyond to enhance student success.
