Community Outreach

Dr. Michel directs the College of Pharmacy Learning Lab at COSI, where his research explores how the public understands and engages with the healthcare system, with a particular focus on pharmacy care. Through interactive outreach programs, the lab promotes pharmacy career awareness, vaccine confidence, and medication safety while fostering meaningful public engagement with science. The community-centered laboratory also provides students with hands-on experience in public health outreach and science communication, helping prepare the next generation of public health leaders and effective science communicators.

Dr. Myriam Shaw Ojeda works at the intersection of pharmacy, public health and community engagement, advancing the role of pharmacists in improving access to care. Through The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, OSU Extension and the Ohio Pharmacists Association, she leads statewide initiatives focused on rural health transformation, public health education and workforce development.
