Professional Interests
Dr. Michel directs the College of Pharmacy Learning Lab at COSI, where his research explores how the public understands and engages with the healthcare system, with a particular focus on pharmacy care. Through interactive outreach programs, the lab promotes pharmacy career awareness, vaccine confidence, and medication safety while fostering meaningful public engagement with science. The community-centered laboratory also provides students with hands-on experience in public health outreach and science communication, helping prepare the next generation of public health leaders and effective science communicators.

Biography
Dr. Michel’s educational background includes a BS in Biological Sciences from Ohio Northern University, a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Cincinnati and a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University within the Collaborative for STEM Education and Outreach.
He joined The Ohio State University in 2022, as a lecturer for the Center for Life Sciences Education. He is currently a senior lecturer at the College of Pharmacy in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Science, where he serves as the director of the College of Pharmacy Learning Lab at COSI.
