Jennifer L. Rodis, PharmD, FAPhA, received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University. She is a graduate of the Community/Ambulatory Care Residency at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy (COP). Dr. Rodis is a Regular Clinical Track Faculty Member and serves as Associate Dean for Outreach and Engagement at COP. She created Partner for Promotion in 2005 and has served as director since its initiation. This nationally-recognized program joins students and community-based pharmacy practitioners to develop and implement advanced patient care services. She has facilitated adoption of PFP at eight colleges of pharmacy across the U.S. since 2009. In addition to this experiential teaching, Dr. Rodis leads professional development threads through the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum with a focus on leadership and professional identity formation.
Dr. Rodis’s research aligns with her aim to advance patient access to pharmacist-provided care which involves investigations and papers on individual service developments, multi-site or statewide advancement projects, student education on practice and professional advancement, as well as policy papers that influence these topics. She co-leads an academic Pharmacy Practice Advancement and Advocacy Fellowship to support these endeavors.
In her role as Associate Dean for Outreach and Engagement, Dr. Rodis recently led OSU to receive the AACP Lawrence C. Weaver Transformative Community Service Award twice – in 2017 and 2023 – the first college to do so in the U.S. Learn more about the college’s Outreach and Engagement efforts here.
E. Michael Murphy, PharmD, MBA, is Senior Advisor for State Government Affairs at the American Pharmacists Association, where he leads national efforts related to state pharmacy policy, pharmacist scope of practice, payment for pharmacists’ services, pharmacy benefit manager reform, and pharmacy workforce issues. In this role, he works closely with state pharmacy associations, legislators, regulators and national health care organizations to advance policies that improve patient access to pharmacist-provided care and strengthen the pharmacy profession.
Dr. Murphy is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, where he teaches courses focused on health policy, advocacy and health care systems. His work frequently centers on the intersection of health care policy, pharmacy practice transformation, reimbursement policy and public health.
Nationally, Dr. Murphy has contributed to policy development and strategic initiatives related to pharmacist prescribing authority, Medicaid and commercial payment policy, pharmacy-based immunization services, rural health care access and pharmaceutical supply chain reform. He regularly collaborates with state and national stakeholders on legislative, regulatory and advocacy initiatives impacting the future of pharmacy practice.
He is a frequent speaker on pharmacy policy and advocacy topics and has authored numerous policy briefs, commentaries, and educational resources focused on advancing patient care through pharmacy practice innovation.
