Each year, Research Day celebrates innovative research conducted in the College of Pharmacy.

8-8:45 a.m. – Poster Presenter Check-in and Setup

8-8:45 a.m. – Breakfast

Session 1

8:45-8:55 a.m. – Welcome from Dean Kroetz

8:55-9:10 a.m. – Trainee Talk #1 (10 minutes + 5 minutes of questions)

9:10-9:45 a.m. – Annie Chi-An Cheng, PhD, National Taiwan University, (30 minutes + 5 minutes of questions) 

Session 2 (Poster Presentations)

9:45-11:15 a.m. – Poster Judging

11:30 a.m.-noon – Poster Session Continues (posters should remain up until ~12:35)

11:45 a.m.-12:35 p.m. - Lunch 

Session 3

12:35-12:50 p.m. – Trainee Talk #2 (10 minutes + 5 minutes of questions)

12:50-1:10 p.m. – Dean’s Innovation Talk - Ji Young Kim, PhD – “Druggable targets for acute kidney injury” (15 minutes + 5 minutes of questions)

1:10-1:45 p.m. – Ching-Hua Kuo, PhD, National Taiwan University (30 minutes + 5 minutes of questions)

1:45-2:05 p.m. - Break 

Session 4

2:05-2:20 p.m. – Trainee Talk #3 (10 minutes + 5 minutes of questions)

2:20-2:40 p.m. – Dean’s Innovation Talk – Liva Rakotondraibe, PhD - “Understanding the Interaction of Botanical-derived Cinnamodial with Mosquito Transient Receptor Potential Ankyrin 1 (TRPA1) Channels for Vector Control Development” (15 minutes + 5 minutes of questions)

2:40-3:20 p.m. – Chun-Jung Lin, PhD, National Taiwan University (30 minutes + 10 minutes of questions)

3:20-3:40 p.m. – Research Award Presentations

Poster Competition

The following categories will be judged and receive awards at Research Day. Cash awards will be given to the top abstracts in each category. In addition, the Ohio State Center for Clinical and Translational Science provides an award for the Best Clinical and Translational Science Abstract.

Please note, if a category has fewer than five entrants, it is not eligible for a cash award. It is up to the discretion of the judges to award prizes or combine categories.

Call for nominations: Research Staff Award

The award recognizes research staff (laboratory) employees of the College of Pharmacy for their significant contributions to the research mission within the college.

The award honors an individual who is involved in the practice of research and consistently performs beyond the expectations of their position, demonstrates initiative and creativity, fosters a cooperative and supportive work environment, and exhibits dependability and self-motivation.

Each nomination requires a letter of support from a primary nominator and the nominee's updated curriculum vitae or resume.
