Professional Interests

Dr. Nguyen is a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist practicing in outpatient general internal medicine under collaborative practice agreements. She is passionate about educating the future generations of pharmacists in both didactic and experiential settings and introducing the pharmacy profession to underrepresented students. Her scholarship interests include pharmacy practice advancement and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Biography

Susan Nguyen, PharmD, BCACP is an associate professor-clinical in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Science at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy and her PGY-1 residency training at The Ohio State University, College of Pharmacy. Prior to joining Ohio State in 2024, Dr. Nguyen was a faculty member at Roseman University of Health Sciences and clinical pharmacist at Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada for eleven years. 

She practices as a board-certified ambulatory care, clinical pharmacist as part of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Outpatient Care General Internal Medicine team. In this setting, she provides disease state management services through collaborative practice agreements for diabetes, hypertension, nicotine cessation, behavioral health, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, and weight management. Her work is focused on pharmacy practice advancement, including the impact of advanced pharmacy services and billing. 

Dr. Nguyen is passionate about pharmacy education, introducing underrepresented students to the profession of pharmacy, and pharmacy advocacy.  She has experience in teaching includes the development and facilitation of pharmacotherapy, leadership, and advocacy topics; skill-based pharmacy activities, and interprofessional activities. At Ohio State, her teaching will include developing and facilitating Program-Level Assessment (PLA) and precepting APPE students and residents. Her research focuses on pharmacy practice advancement and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
