Biography

Dr. Lisa Mostafavifar, PharmD, MS, BCPS, BCNSP serves as an Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Science in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (MS HSPAL) Program at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. She provides strategic and administrative oversight for the MS HSPAL program and teaches multiple core courses, including PHR 8170 Planning, Leading, and Managing the Pharmacy Enterprise, PHR 8884 Seminar, and PHR 8500 Capstone in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership. Dr. Mostafavifar also leads scholarship and collaborative efforts with residency partners including OhioHealth, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Comprehensive Pharmacy Solutions, and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy in 2008 and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at West Virginia University Hospitals, followed by a PGY2 in Critical Care at Baptist Health South Florida.

Dr. Mostafavifar brings over 15 years of diverse pharmacy experience spanning clinical care, residency program leadership, and health-system operations. Prior to her current academic appointment, she served as Clinical Operations Pharmacy Manager at OhioHealth, where she led initiatives in staffing model transformation, critical care and women’s health service planning, and workforce development. She previously directed a PGY1 residency program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, where she worked with a multidisciplinary team of preceptors and supported the development of dozens of future practitioners. She also serves as an ASHP Guest Practitioner Surveyor for PGY1 and PGY1/2 HSPAL residency programs.

Her journey into leadership was fueled by a desire to grow professionally and make a broader impact within the pharmacy enterprise. After completing her MS HSPAL degree as a working professional, she applied her education to real-world leadership challenges, from responding to crises like facility disruptions and severe weather emergencies to launching flexible staffing models and driving culture change. Dr. Mostafavifar is passionate about mentoring others, facilitating personal and professional growth, and building a culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, and authenticity.

A strong advocate for the MS HSPAL program and its mission, Dr. Mostafavifar prioritizes expanding the network of residency site partners and deepening engagement with working professional students. She leverages her experience, alumni perspective, and strong relationships with healthcare organizations to drive program growth, enrich the student experience, and support graduates throughout their leadership journey.

Dr. Mostafavifar enjoys staying active through a variety of exercise routines, particularly outdoor activities when the weather allows. She is a sports enthusiast and a dedicated supporter of the Columbus Crew, as well as her three children who are active in soccer and golf. She and her husband also enjoy exploring new restaurants in Columbus and planning family vacations.
