Latiolais Leadership Program celebrates 66 years of excellence and Clifton Awardee at ASHP Midyear
Alumni, faculty and staff gathered on Dec. 7 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas for the 2025 Latiolais Leadership Program Alumni Social and the presentation of the Clifton J. Latiolais Award.
Held in conjunction with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition, the annual gathering celebrates Ohio State's MS in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership program.
The 2025 Clifton J. Latiolais Leadership Award was given to Alex C. Varkey, PharmD, MS '07, FAPhA. The award honors individuals whose careers reflect the values and vision of Cliff Latiolais, a pioneer in institutional pharmacy. Dr. Varkey’s selection highlights his sustained impact on the profession and his commitment to innovation and service.
Among those present were past Latiolais Award recipients, including 2024 honoree Edward Stemley, PharmD, MS ’98. Since 1985, the award has been given to more than 30 alumni for their significant contributions to health-system pharmacy. The 66th anniversary celebration concluded with heartfelt remarks honoring Dr. Varkey and meaningful moments of reconnection.
