Dr. Leslie Newman surprised with BSPS Teacher of the Year Award
Leslie Newman, PhD, assistant dean for undergraduate studies and associate professor of practice, was presented with the 2026 BSPS Teacher of the Year Award during a surprise visit on April 22 in the Meijer Pharmacy Classroom.
Delivering the surprise to Dr. Newman was Deanna L. Kroetz, PhD, BS Pharm '85, dean and professor. Other members of the College of Pharmacy, such as faculty, staff and students, joined in celebrating her achievement.
This award, chosen by the BSPS students, is given to an educator who delivers engaging teaching methods, fosters an environment conducive to learning and shows immense support for students. After the award was announced, Dean Kroetz read a few of the many kind words that the students left for Dr. Newman.
