College of Pharmacy members recognized at the 2026 Collaborative Excellence in Action Awards event
Several members of the College of Pharmacy were recognized at the 2026 Excellence in Collaborative Action Award event. Held by the Office of Interprofessional Practice and Education, this event highlights and honors the exceptional individuals in health sciences programs who are leading the way in their fields.
Alexa Valentino, PharmD, MBA, BCACP, FAPhA, is an associate clinical professor at the College of Pharmacy and oversees the curriculum for BuckIPE, a comprehensive interprofessional education framework developed collaboratively by representatives from Ohio State’s health science colleges, Social Work, and Arts and Sciences. Each year, they recognize faculty and trainees who have helped in the interprofessional education and training provided to health sciences students. This year, the College of Pharmacy had several recognitions. Additionally, all PharmD students participate in interprofessional education as a core component of the curriculum.
Excellence in Interprofessional Research Award
This award recognizes individuals or teams who have contributed significantly to the scholarship of interprofessional practice and education across educational, translational, practice-based, or student research categories.

BuckIPE Facilitator Awards
These dedicated professionals, representing diverse health sciences backgrounds, lead BuckIPE experiences that prepare learners to enter the workforce ready for seamless, collaborative care. The BuckIPE program itself stands as a testament to institutional teamwork, operating as a strategic partnership between The Ohio State University and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
