Upgrade now to the tap-enabled BuckID card
As part of Ohio State’s ongoing modernization of BuckID access controls, the legacy magnetic stripe card readers on the Xeroxes in Parks and Riffe will be upgraded between May 18 and mid-June with more secure contactless “tap” readers.
What’s changing:
To release your print jobs, tap your BuckID on the new reader. The swipe method will no longer be available on these printers.
Do you need a tap-enabled BuckID?
Faculty, staff, and students who have received a new BuckID since summer 2023 already have a tap-enabled ID. If your card only has a magnetic stripe, upgrading is free for current students and employees. You should have received an email from the BuckID office about the upcoming deadline. As a reminder, see the BuckID office’s guidance to upgrade now to the tap-enabled BuckID card.
