Update on college transition to Managed IT Services (MITS)
The College of Pharmacy is transitioning to Managed IT Services (MITS) through the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI). While Pharmacy IT staff will begin reporting to OTDI beginning July 1, 2026, the team will continue to maintain its usual staffing levels as transition work progresses. You should still contact Pharmacy IT in the same ways that you do today – email cop-problem@osu.edu or submit a ticket through https://go.osu.edu/pharmacyit.
Pharmacy and OTDI IT teams have already started work behind the scenes to align key technical requirements in advance of the transition. As early as July, you may start to notice the first visible updates, including seeing OTDI staff in the building. Major milestones of the transition project include:
- Network updates (timeline - Summer 2026)
- Transitioning support of classrooms and conference rooms (start of Autumn 2026 semester)
- Transitioning IT support email and portal (target - Fall 2026)
- Installing new device management and patching tools (target - Fall 2026)
Much of this transition will happen behind the scenes but, as we move forward, we will communicate upcoming activities in advance to help minimize disruption and keep faculty, staff, and graduate students informed. The college is planning on hosting a zoom call on a date to be determined for faculty and staff to ask any questions. Additional updates will be shared using a variety of channels, including:
- MITS Webpage
- Pharmacy eNews
- All-College emails
- OTDI IT Service Desk emails via servicedesk@osu.edu
- System Status page for planned maintenance and service interruptions
We know technology transitions can bring questions. Our teams are here to help and will support you throughout this transition.
