PGY2 Sydney Robbins and PGY1 Site Coordinator receive 2025 APhA Resident Incentive Grant
PGY2 College of Pharmacy resident Sydney Robbins and PGY1 Site Coordinator/Research Mentor Suzanne Higginbotham, received the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Residents and their Preceptors Incentive Grant for their ongoing research project titled, "Utilizing Generative Artificial Intelligence to Develop Patient Education Materials in the Primary Care Setting."
The Residents and their Preceptors Grant requires a project proposal with any community/ambulatory-pharmacy-based practice innovation. Possible categories include maternal health, medication safety, mental/behavioral health and more. Forty-nine pharmacists and student pharmacists across the country were awarded $1,000 grants to support their innovation.
"Receiving an Incentive Grant provides a valuable opportunity to collaborate with pharmacists and physicians at my site to evaluate the accuracy of AI-generated materials, ensuring they are not only readable but also clinically sound and trustworthy," Robbins said.
