The Ohio State University Primary Care Clinics receive APhA Pinnacle Award

August 13, 2025

The Ohio State University Primary Care Clinics were selected for the 2025 American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation Pinnacle Award.

The Pinnacle Awards celebrate significant contributions to the medication use process leading to increased patient adherence, reduced adverse drug events, promotion of use of national treatment guidelines, improvement of patient outcomes and enhancement of communication among the members of the health care team.

Ohio State was one of two programs to receive the Pinnacle Award.

At the heart of the Ohio State General Internal Medicine (OSUGIM) and Ohio State Family and Community Medicine clinics, pharmacists are embedded as essential members of the interprofessional care teams. These primary care pharmacists collaborate closely with more than 180 attending physicians and advanced practice providers, over 120 resident physicians, and a dedicated network of care coordinators, nurses, social workers, dietitians and medical assistant.

The interprofessional team provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse population of more than 150,000 individuals across central Ohio.
