Ohio State Outreach and Engagement Graduate Student Poster Competition
The Ohio State University Outreach and Engagement Graduate Student Poster Competition is now open!
Ohio State’s engaged scholars make significant contributions through impactful collaborations with community partners. Their work strengthens the university’s culture of engagement and advances its land-grant mission. The annual Outreach and Engagement Community Partnership Breakfast features a graduate student poster competition showcasing engaged scholarship.
Awards
Professional development stipends will be awarded to the top three posters:
- First place: $500
- Second and third place: $250 each
Details
- Up to 20 graduate students will be selected to present posters and will be notified by September 21.
- If selected to compete, posters must be submitted electronically as PDF files by October 12. Printing will be arranged and paid for by the Office of Outreach and Engagement. Please save your file as Last Name, First Name.
- Presenters must attend the poster competition on November 20 at the Longaberger Alumni House, from 8 - 9:30 a.m.
Selection Criteria
Submissions should exemplify high-impact engaged scholarship, including:
- Engagement: Direct collaboration with community partners.
- Reciprocity: Mutual benefit to both the students discipline and the community partners.
- Capacity Building: Enhances the ability of individuals and organizations in the community to advocate for themselves.
- Community Improvement: Demonstrates outcomes that improve community processes, conditions, or results.
