Molly Teller wins university Scarlet Hashtag award third year in a row

May 28, 2026

Senior marketing and media specialist Molly Teller received a Scarlet Hashtag award for the third year in a row. The awards are given by the university's social media team to recognize social media efforts across campus.

This year, Teller received an award in the long-form video category for her video, "Service-Learning in Rural Appalachia."

In their virtual presentation of the awards this month, they noted:

Molly Teller of the College of Pharmacy takes it home for the second year in a row after traveling to southeast Ohio over fall break to capture 15 Doctor of Pharmacy students completing a service-learning trip as part of an inaugural course on underserved rural communities.

  • The testimonials from students, preceptors and faculty do the heavy lifting emotionally, but the composition and production choices bring it to life in a way that feels polished and authentic.
  • It really tells two stories at once: how the community was impacted by the work of our students, and how our students were impacted by their experiences within the community.
  • Long-form as a format is best suited to do all of it justice.
