Mentees of Liva Rakotondraibe win best poster awards at 7th Annual Plant Sciences Symposium
Three mentees of H. Liva Rakotondraibe, PhD, associate professor of medicinal chemistry and pharmacognosy, won all of the poster prizes at the 7th Annual Plant Sciences Symposium Feb. 29-March 1 at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center.
The mentees were undergraduate student Chloe Delnicki (1st prize) and graduate students Sara Neiheisel (2nd prize) and Korydwen Terrasson (3rd prize).
The event was partially sponsored by Corteva Agriscience, Indianapolis, IN. This year’s theme was “Next Frontiers of Plant Research.” A. Douglas Kinghorn, PhD, distinguished professor and Jack L. Beal Chair, gave a keynote address titled, “Approaches to Drug Discovery from Higher Plants.”
Participants from across the country were present. Several poster presentations were made mainly by undergraduate and graduate student laboratory workers during the meeting, and several short lectures and longer podium talks were presented.
