Dr. Jeff Steckman '07 shares career insights with pharmacy students

On January 30, The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy welcomed alumnus Jeff Steckman, PharmD ’07, as a featured speaker in its Career Exploration alumni speaker series.

The monthly program brings College of Pharmacy graduates back to campus to share their academic and professional journeys with current students. Dr. Steckman reflected on his time at Ohio State, his academic path and the progression of his career.

Dr. Steckman is the division health leader for the Columbus Division of Kroger Health, overseeing pharmacy operations at 113 locations across Ohio, West Virginia and Michigan. His role includes managing more than 300 pharmacists, 80 interns and 1,000 technicians. He is also actively involved in the profession, serving as vice president and a member of the Executive Board of the Ohio Pharmacist Association and as an Ohio delegate to the APhA House of Delegates.

Dr. Steckman has received multiple honors, including the Outstanding Community Engagement Award from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, the Keys Award and the Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award from the Ohio Pharmacists Association. 

Outside of his professional career, Dr. Steckman is married to Brynn, also a 2007 graduate of the College of Pharmacy. They have a son, Asher, and enjoy attending his hockey and baseball games.
