Debra Goff named female Trailblazers in Antimicrobial Resistance by the Fleming Initiative
Debra Goff, PharmD, FCCP, FIDSA, has been recognized as one of the Fleming Initiative’s Trailblazers in Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) for 2025, an honor that celebrates leaders driving transformative change in combating drug-resistant infections.
Dr. Goff is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Science at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (1980), Doctor of Pharmacy (1982), and completed a residency in 1983, all at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
This recognition underscores Dr. Goff’s global leadership in antimicrobial stewardship. As a founding member of Ohio State’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and an advisor to international initiatives, she has advanced strategies that improve antibiotic use and reduce resistance in both high- and low-resource settings. Her work with the Ohio State Global One Health initiative, WHO collaborations, and mentoring programs in South Africa and beyond exemplifies her commitment to sustainable solutions for one of the most pressing health challenges of our time.
