College of Pharmacy unveils Dr. Milap C. Nahata Welcome Atrium and Ric Mora, BS Pharm ’63, Kitchenette
The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the Dr. Milap C. Nahata Welcome Atrium and Ric Mora, BS Pharm ’63, Kitchenette on April 22. The atrium and kitchenette are located on the first floor of the new Vrable Center for Pharmacy Excellence in the Riffe Building.
Both named spaces were made possible by Richard “Ric” Moulton Mora Sr., BS ’63. Mora, a proud alumnus of Ohio State, earned his BS in Pharmacy in 1963 and was a member of the 1962 national championship men's swimming team. Mora a long history of supporting The Ohio State University through volunteerism and philanthropy.
The atrium stands to honor Milap C. Nahata, MS, PharmD, emeritus professor, who has been a pillar of the College of Pharmacy for nearly 50 years. In 1977, he joined the college as one of its first four full-time clinical pharmacy faculty. Since then, he has published more than 650 peer-reviewed journal articles, five books and 100 book chapters. Dr. Nahata was also the recipient of the 2024 Remington Honor Medal, the preeminent award for the profession and the highest honor bestowed by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). Additionally, he received the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Harvey A.K. Whitney Lecture Award – the organization’s highest honor.
Remarks were given by Deanna Kroetz, PhD, BS Pharm '85, dean and professor at the College of Pharmacy, Mora and Dr. Nahata. Dr. Nahata was joined by his wife, Suchitra; daughter, Leena; and his son-in-law and grandchildren. Friends, faculty and staff from the college were also in attendance.
