College of Pharmacy staff AI Innovation Challenge

July 29, 2026

The College of Pharmacy is launching an AI Innovation Challenge for staff members to identify practical, implementation-ready ways to use artificial intelligence to improve how we work.

This challenge is designed to harness your expertise and creativity to discover solutions that can reduce administrative burdens, elevate student support, and free up capacity for the high-impact work that moves our college forward.

Challenge Goal

Submit a proposal for an AI application, workflow, tool or process that:

  • Improves efficiency, productivity, or service quality
  • Reduces time spent on repetitive or administrative tasks
  • Can be realistically implemented within the College of Pharmacy
  • Demonstrates measurable impact
  • Has potential applicability across multiple positions, departments, or functions
  • Aligns with university policies and responsible AI practices

We encourage both simple and transformative ideas. Sometimes the most impactful innovations are those that save just a few minutes every day across many employees.

Evaluation Criteria

A panel of peers and managers will be assembled after the submission period is complete to evaluate the ideas. Submissions will be evaluated based on:

Innovation

How creatively does the proposal apply AI to address a workplace challenge?

Impact

What level of efficiency, quality improvement, or time savings could be achieved?

Scalability

Can the solution be used by multiple staff members, offices, or divisions?

Feasibility

How practical is implementation within the College of Pharmacy?

Sustainability

Will the solution provide ongoing value over time?

Submission Requirements

Please submit:

  1. A description of the current challenge or opportunity.
  2. A description of the proposed AI solution.
  3. Expected benefits and efficiencies gained.
  4. Estimated implementation requirements.
  5. Potential applications across other positions or divisions.
  6. Any examples, prototypes, workflows, or demonstrations, if available.

Timeline

Challenge Opens: July 15, 2026

Submission Deadline: Applications will be reviewed starting September 1, 2026

Together, we can discover new ways to leverage AI to work smarter, enhance service and create more capacity for the high-value work that matters most.
