College of Pharmacy IT transition

April 14, 2026

Starting July 1, the College of Pharmacy will expand our operational partnership with the university’s Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI). OTDI will begin supporting local technology services, including computers, classroom audiovisual systems, research technology, and help desk support under its Managed IT Services (MITS) framework.

This expanded partnership will create multiple efficiencies for the university and the college, including:

  • Alignment with university leadership’s vision for a “stronger together”, One University framework, while continuing to support the college's ability to lead, innovate, instruct, and conduct world-class research.
  • Enhancing OTDI’s and the university’s ability to leverage economies of scale through streamlined IT architecture.
  • Annual cost savings for Pharmacy, which will allow the college to invest in its strategic priorities.
  • Long-term professional development and career growth opportunities for our current IT staff.

Pharmacy’s IT team will begin transition planning with OTDI to ensure a seamless move of support and services into OTDI’s portfolio. Beginning July 1, Pharmacy IT staff will join OTDI but will largely continue supporting the college in their existing roles through the duration of the transition period. Additional details about service requests and support processes will be shared as plans are finalized, but be assured that our students, faculty, and staff will continue to have the excellent IT support we’ve been accustomed to.
