College of Pharmacy hosts Trio/Upward Bound students for annual Pharmacy Institute

During the week of June 17-21, Dr. Katie Summers, with the help of staff and students, hosted 23 high school students from Columbus City Schools participating in the Trio/Upward Bound summer program, to introduce them to careers in pharmacy. 

Students participated in various activities throughout the week, including research lab tours, participating in pharmacy-based activities in the practice lab, learning about health care advocacy and participating in various experiments to learn more about drug action. 

Students also heard about the college's undergraduate and professional programs from the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.
