College of Pharmacy hosts Cristo Rey High School students

October 24, 2025

On October 17, the College of Pharmacy’s Office of Recruitment and Admissions welcomed students from Cristo Rey High School in downtown Columbus for an engaging introduction to the pharmacy profession.

Students took part in interactive pharmacy-focused activities such as medication matching, compounding races and prescription filling simulations. These exercises offered a hands-on look at the critical responsibilities of pharmacists, emphasizing skills like accuracy in dispensing, verifying drug information and recognizing potential medication interactions.

Through these experiences, students gained insight into the precision, problem-solving and patient-centered care that define the field of pharmacy. The visit was part of an ongoing effort by the college to introduce pharmacy as a career option to students from a wide variety of communities.
