College of Pharmacy and Generation Rx table at second annual All of Us Block Party

On September 26, the Ohio State College of Pharmacy and Generation Rx joined State Representative Dontavius Jarrells and the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Foundation for the second annual All of Us Block Party. 

This family-friendly event brings communities together to celebrate unity, joy and empowerment. Organizations from all over Franklin County provide community resources to those who may need them. Resources range from dental care and stroke assessments to information on affordable housing and hunger resources. 

This year, the College of Pharmacy and Generation Rx provided a hands-on activity to community members to educate families on the risks of counterfeit and misused medications. 

The activity was designed to challenge participants' knowledge of counterfeit medication. When presented with three options—a counterfeit medication, a household item and a non-counterfeit medication—participants had to decipher which medication was which.

Additionally, Jennifer Rodis, PharmD, FAPhA, clinical professor and associate dean for outreach and engagement, had the opportunity to speak with ABC 6 News on the impact of medication education.
