Apply for the President and Provost’s Leadership Institute (PPLI)

April 28, 2026

The Office of Academic Affairs is pleased to announce that the President and Provost’s Leadership Institute (PPLI) is being relaunched with three programs that support emerging leaders who are interested in both informal and formal leadership roles in academia. These differentiated programs offer participants opportunities to enhance their vision and develop their leadership competencies, networks and knowledge of the complex realities of higher education.

Request for Applications
We are pleased to open the application process for the first of these three programs for Leadership-Curious Faculty. This seven-week program will meet for three hours every other Friday morning for one semester and is open to all full-time faculty. Applications will be accepted until May 8, with 40 faculty accepted and notification of acceptance sent by June 1.

Interested faculty may apply for participation by submitting a one-page letter of interest and CV. This letter should emphasize your history of service and leadership, career goals and objectives for participating in this PPLI program. Faculty who apply must be available to attend all sessions.

Applications also require a letter of support from an administrator to whom you report (e.g., chair, dean, director or vice provost) that highlights your leadership skills and abilities, accomplishments and potential for professional growth. This letter must confirm financial and logistical support (e.g., the faculty member may need to agree to an adjusted teaching schedule or workload to enable regular attendance at sessions).

Materials and questions can be addressed to faculty@osu.edu.
