Julio Duarte, PharmD, PhD, FAHA
Professor
Dr. Duarte’s research focuses on two primary areas: (1) the biological mechanisms driving the progression of left heart failure, including the development of pulmonary hypertension, and (2) the clinical implementation of preemptive pharmacogenetic testing, particularly among medically underserved populations. His NIH-funded laboratory conducts translational research to identify genomic predictors of drug response and leverages genomic and transcriptomic approaches to discover novel therapeutic targets for future drug development.
