Hana Sacic, a Class of 2022 PharmD student at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, was selected to receive the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Student Leadership Award.

Sacic was one of 12 recipients recognized for showcasing the best attributes and achievements of all ASHP student members during the 2020-2021 school year.

"It's been such a pleasure to work with Hana, as she served as our SSHP chapter's president,” said JD Bickel, PharmD, BCPS. “The responsibilities of leading one of the largest and most active student organizations within the College of Pharmacy is certainly demanding, even in the best circumstances. The ways Hana rose to the occasion and led through these unprecedented times is truly remarkable."

ASHP gave each recipient a plaque, access to a digital drug information library and $2,000 cash provided by the ASHP Research and Education Foundation.

Sacic is one of three Ohio State students in as many years honored by ASHP after a rigorous and competitive selective process against highly qualified applicants across the country.

"Hana and her award-winning predecessors are such great examples of the kind of transformational leadership potential that Ohio State attracts and fosters within its students,” Dr. Bickel said. “This is exactly what a tradition of excellence looks like."
