The Generation Rx Collaborative is a student-led, volunteer-based organization which aims to enhance medication safety practices and educate the public about the misuse of prescription drugs. Currently more than 200 passionate Ohio State pharmacy students collaborate with other professional colleges to provide resources to those who are struggling with addiction. Established at Ohio State in 2015, the program has been growing exponentially. Around the country, there is a Generation Rx Collaborative chapter at nearly every major pharmacy school.
During each academic year, the Generation Rx Collaborative participates in or hosts four large events, including Pharmathon 5K, the NOPE Candlelight Vigil, and two medication disposal days. In addition to these events, the organization hosts medication safety presentations to help those in the community understand the importance of using all medications as prescribed.
