A. Douglas Kinghorn was invited by the publisher MDPI (Basel, Switzerland) to serve as chair of the selection committee for a 100,000 Swiss Franc prize for the 2024 Tu Youyou Award in natural products chemistry and medicinal chemistry.

This transformative initiative aims to elevate awareness of pharmacy careers among middle and high school students in medically underserved communities, increase enrollment in pharmacy training pathways and provide professional training focused on caring for underserved patients.
