Sharyn Baker and Eric Eisenmann receive President's Research Excellence Catalyst Award
Sharyn Baker, PharmD, PhD, the Gertrude Parker Heer Chair in Cancer Research, and Eric Eisenmann, PharmD, PhD, an assistant professor, have been awarded a President's Research Excellence (PRE) Catalyst Award in the amount of $270,000 for their proposal titled, "Transport mechanisms of chemotherapy-induced myelotoxicity."
The PRE program provides seed support to catalyze and accelerate multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary or convergent research teams pursuing external funding. Administered by the Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge (ERIK), the program awards up to $2.5 million per year through two tiers of grants.
The award period for this proposal, which aims to ameliorate a major debilitating side effect of cancer chemotherapy, is from Jan. 1, 2025, to Dec. 31, 2026.
