Send a video message to Laura Hall
Associate Professor Laura Hall, PharmD, BCPS, was diagnosed with a small bowel adenocarcinoma with mets in October 2024. She has been receiving treatment since that time and working intermittently to provide patient care at the General Internal Medicine clinic and teaching in our classrooms. She was recently admitted to the James and today has made the transition to Inpatient Hospice at the James and is at ease.
The College of Pharmacy is collecting video messages to share with Dr. Hall to let her know that she is being thought of. If you'd like to contribute to this effort, please record a video of yourself with an update on what you've been up to. Dr. Hall is a nature lover, so videos taken outdoors are ideal.
Videos can be sent to Bella Mehta at mehta.6@osu.edu.
Dr. Hall joined the College of Pharmacy in 2000 and has a nearly 39-year history of advancing pharmacy practice through multiple different practice settings. She started her pharmacy career as a hospital generalist and has worked as part of interdisciplinary teams since early in her practice. She helped to develop once daily aminoglycoside dosing and provided expertise in infectious disease at the start of her career. Notably, she was part of an interprofessional group to address clinical needs of HIV patients early in the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Her willingness to be at the forefront of developing a new practice in family medicine in the 1990s was pioneering and laid the foundation for her success in primary care and long-standing care of underserved patient populations. She also contributed to the PharmD curriculum, especially with drug information and serving as a mentor to many students and residents. I am so grateful that Laura has been part of the pharmacy practice division to share her knowledge, experience, compassion and care with students, residents, and patients.
