Advocate for pharmacy practice during National Pharmacy Week

The Thursday of National Pharmacy Week (Oct. 16-22, 2022) is centered around advocacy for pharmacy practice. Faculty, staff and especially students are encouraged to engage in advocacy to push the profession of pharmacy forward.

Here are a few ways to advocate for the profession:

  1. Share on your social media channels
    1. Sharing the value pharmacists bring to patient outcomes and the health care team keeps your social media friends and followers aware of pharmacists’ importance.
      1. It also keeps your friends and followers aware of issues and opportunities within pharmacy.
  2. Reach out directly to your representatives and tell them how pharmacists contribute to improved patient outcomes and reduced health care costs.
    1. Find your Ohio state senator and representative
    2. Find your Congressional representative
    3. Find your Congressional senators
  3. Engage in advocacy initiatives run by Ohio State student chapter organizations
