Recipient announced for Pharmacy Alumni Society’s Generation Rx Pharmathon Scholarship
Allison Layton and Rosemary Mullaghy have been selected as recipients of the 2024-25 The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy Alumni Society’s Generation Rx Pharmathon Scholarship.
Layton, a third-year PharmD candidate, is a Generation Rx Ambassador and is actively involved in research around the effectiveness of implementing the Ambassadors program in the PharmD curriculum. Mullaghy, a first-year PharmD candidate, has been actively involved in harm reduction research and outreach, specifically within Ohio State Greek Life. They were both selected for their commitment to promoting the Generation Rx mission through outreach activities and for exhibiting exceptional leadership as well as good citizenship.
Established in July 2018, this scholarship utilizes funds raised from the Pharmathon 5K event to promote awareness and education regarding safe medication-taking practices and/or the dangers of prescription drug misuse via the Pharmacy Alumni Society Governing Board and the College of Pharmacy Generation Rx Initiative. This award will be a $4,000 scholarship granted to the applicant who best exhibits exceptional academic achievement, leadership, good citizenship and financial need.
