Mercerhill takes top prize at Medicine and the Arts

Jessica Mercerhill, PhD, director of academic programs and student services, was awarded first place for her cross-stitch, “Papa’s Violets,” in the annual Medicine and the Arts art show. 

"When I first created this pattern from a picture of violets grown in my garden, I laughingly called it my 10-year project," she said." Two houses, two kids, a PhD and 15 years later, I finally finished it."  

Medicine and the Arts celebrates artists in all of the health science colleges in various art mediums.   

All submissions can be viewed here or viewed in person in Meiling Hall. The top award winners will have their artwork displayed in the James Art Gallery this spring.
