Assessment in Health Professions Education

Assessment in the health professions occurs in unique learning contexts. In many cases, learning occurs in a clinical setting that involves learners at multiple levels, as well as patients. Frequently, the assessors are healthcare providers who have not been trained in educational theories and practices. These health care providers require assessment training that matches the unique practices found in their disciplines and learning environments. 

Individuals who complete the Assessment in the Health Professions Education endorsement will gain knowledge of the theories and practices underpinning assessment in the health professions and be able to create an assessment plan suitable for their teaching context.
