Pharmacy faculty recognized with 2023-24 interprofessional teaching awards
Three College of Pharmacy faculty members were recognized with awards for their efforts teaching and facilitating BuckIPE curricula. BuckIPE is Ohio State’s interprofessional practice and education program designed to prepare students to thrive as health care professionals who can successfully collaborate with others to improve outcomes, increase satisfaction, streamline processes and advance health equity. The program is a partnership between The Ohio State University and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Program facilitators interact with students from over 20 programs across seven colleges in the university. During the BuckIPE core modules, facilitators guide interprofessional teams of eight students through experiences where they learn about teaming, collaborative practice, roles and responsibilities and more. Facilitators are responsible for setting the tone and creating an environment where students feel safe to ask questions and explore how working on an interprofessional team can maximize outcomes for patients and communities. They are a significant part of BuckIPE, as they are responsible for modeling a culture of interprofessionalism.
