Biography
Kristin A. Casper, PharmD, is a professor of clinical pharmacy and chair of the Division of Pharmacy Education and Innovation at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. She received her Bachelor of Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Toledo. She was the second graduate of the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at The Ohio State University where she discovered her passions for teaching and innovative patient care services. Dr. Casper is an Ohio-licensed pharmacist and is the inaugural chair of the Pharmacy Education and Innovation division where she has served since May 2020.
Dr. Casper has taught nonprescription medications and self-care for more than twenty years. She has served in national leadership roles as part of the Nonprescription Medicines Academy and the AACP Self-Care/Nonprescription Special Interest Group. She also chaired the College Curriculum Committee and was the faculty co-lead for the 2018 College of Pharmacy ACPE accreditation process.
As a faculty practitioner, Dr. Casper pioneered numerous shared faculty partnerships that resulted in the establishment of expanded pharmacy services. She was one of the first shared faculty members with the Kroger Company and was integral in programmatic development for immunization and medication therapy management services. She subsequently served as a clinical practitioner at OSU Clinical Partners and further expanded pharmacy services as a practitioner at OSU Carepoint Lewis Center Family Medicine. Prior to transitioning to her leadership role at the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Casper was a shared faculty practitioner at the Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio where she assisted with patient care, practice-based research, and resident and student precepting.
