Professional Interests

Jennifer Seifert’s professional interests include advancing continuing professional development (CPD) programming for pharmacists and instilling CPD values in students. She has a passion for community-based pharmacy practice with an emphasis on the care of older adults. Her scholarship has focused on health equity with a focus on access to pharmacy services for people living in poverty.

Biography

Jennifer Seifert, MS, RPh, BCGP, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Science at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. She serves as the Director of Continuing Professional Development and Director of the PGY1 Community-based Residency Program. She graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and from The Ohio State University in 1999 with a Master of Science in Pharmacology.  She is Board Certified in Geriatric Pharmacy.   

As a community-based pharmacist practitioner she has precepted hundreds of pharmacy students and over 40 pharmacy residents in a variety of community-based practices including Kroger, the Medicine Shoppe, Target, and the Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio.   During her practice at the Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio from 2010-2021, as Executive Director the organization was named Healthcare Trailblazer by Columbus CEO and received the Community Pharmacy Innovations in Quality award from the Pharmacy Quality Alliance and Community Pharmacy Foundation. 

She currently teaches in global health encouraging a global perspective for pharmacy students and she facilitates international learning for students and pharmacists visiting the United States from global partner institutions.  Her practice interests include innovative community practice, underserved care, and geriatric medication management.  Her professional focus is to foster continuing professional development for pharmacists in practice from 1 to 50 years to cultivate confidence, competence, and compassion in all that they do from delivering direct patient care to assuming responsibility for the advancement of safe and effective medication use systems.  She has a passion for experiential learning and encourages practitioners to embrace the professional responsibility of training the next generation of pharmacists.
