Biography

Brittney Mize, PhD, earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Otterbein University in 2018 and obtained her Adolescent to Young Adult (AYA) Life Science Ohio Teaching License in 2021. She completed her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at The Ohio State University in 2023 under the mentorship of Dr. James Fuchs. Her dissertation research focused on developing analogs of natural products with anti-ovarian cancer activity, identifying their molecular targets, and designing novel CDK9 degraders.

Dr. Mize was awarded The Ohio State University Presidential Fellowship in 2018 and has presented her research at numerous local and national conferences. In addition to her work in medicinal chemistry, she earned an Inclusive Teaching Endorsement from The Ohio State Drake Institute in 2022 and taught Organic Chemistry at Otterbein University from 2023 to 2024.

Dr. Mize's current work centers on advancing chemical literacy and supporting student success among undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) learners in the College of Pharmacy.
