Populating Directory Pages

To populate faculty and staff directory pages, we are using Vita and the university’s HR system. This information syncs with our internal system, displaying contact information, a professional statement, education history, publications and honors.

If this information is not entered into the HR system and Vita it will NOT be displayed on the new website.

Content
  1. Log in to vita.osu.edu
  2. Click “Curate Elements Data”, the first box on the left. This will take you to the Elements dashboard. Before you complete any of the activities below you MUST log in to Vita and curate this data. Note: Curating data takes about 24 hours to complete.
  3. While in Elements, you will update your search settings to help with displaying the most relevant publications
    1. Click “Menu” on the left side to open the three tab drop down. Click “Search settings”
    2. On the “Publication search settings page” you will be able to add information to influence how to system performs name-based searches for your publications. On this page you can add name variants, addresses, start dates, keywords, journals and article IDs
      1. To add information, enter it into the text box and click the green plus sign on the right side
      2. After you are done adding in search information, click “Save” on the right at the bottom of the page

  2. Click “Write Narratives”, the third box from the left
  3. Click “Biographical Information”, the third box from the left
  4. Write in your statement. After entering information, click File then Save to save your work

  2. Click “Curate Elements Data”, the first box on the left. This will take you to the Elements dashboard
  3. Click “Edit your profile”
  4. Scroll to the “Education” section, click “Add a degree” and enter in the required information

  2. Click “Curate Elements Data”, the first box on the left. This will take you to the Elements dashboard
  3. Click “Add” in the professional activities box on the right side
  4. Click “Distinction”, the fourth box from the top in the left column
  5. Add in your essential information, including distinction name, the type of honor, and who it was awarded by. Click “Save” in the bottom right corner.

  1. Log in to vita.osu.edu
  2. Click “Curate Elements Data”, the first box on the left. This will take you to the Elements dashboard
  3. Click the “Menu” tab near the top of the page. Under “My Account” click “Account Settings”, then “Manage Delegates”
  4. Under “Manage Delegates” near the bottom of the page, type the last name of who will be entering your information into Vita. They must have logged in to Vita prior to being added as a delegate.

Office Number:

  1. Access Employee Self Service at http://eprofile.osu.edu
  2. Click “Personal Information Summary”, the top link in the left column
  3. Click the “Change Home/Mailing Addresses” button
  4. Click the “Edit” icon (pencil) next to the Business address
  5. Ensure that ONLY the room number is entered into the Address 3 field (example: enter “453” if your office was room 453) then click the Save button

Phone Number:

  1. Access Employee Self Service at http://eprofile.osu.edu
  2. Click “Personal Information Summary”, the top link in the left column
  3. Click the “Change Phone Numbers” button
  4. Enter your update phone number in the Business section (the format should be 614/XXX-XXXX) then click the Save button
