Pharmacy Ambassadors

The Pharmacy Ambassadors program was initiated in 2013 to provide educational sessions about the U.S. healthcare and pharmacy systems for newly resettled refugees in the Columbus area. The pharmacy students arrange these sessions at a local pharmacy to acclimate refugees to the U.S. health-care system by giving a presentation and following this with a tour of the pharmacy. The program expanded its services through free, online tools and resources via the college's website that can be utilized by any institution or organization wanting to adopt a similar program to help the public or a targeted population better understand the U.S. healthcare and pharmacy systems.

Program Mission

The mission of the Pharmacy Ambassadors program is to provide high-quality pharmacy services to an underserved population. We strive to increase public's knowledge of the U.S. health-care and pharmacy system by providing an educational presentation.
