About the Office of Outreach and Engagement

Outreach and engagement has been a historical focus at our college; however, structure and function centrally had been lacking. Thus, in 2014 the Office of Outreach and Engagementembarked in a strategic planning process to define a new mission and pillars to guide our work over the next 3-5 years. An outreach and engagement-focused strategic planning task force identifed perceived gaps and opportunities from key internal and external stakeholders, determining themes that aligned with college and university mission and goals, and creating goals, implementation initiatives, as well as metrics.  We are now working from core goals, related implementation initiatives, and a set of metrics involving quantitative and qualitative measurements of achievement. This strategic planning resulted in newly formed positions, creation of a task force focused in outreach and engagement, and new policies to guide student, faculty and staff community engagement.
