Applications are now available for the OSU College of Pharmacy’s high school summer course, Pills, Potions, and Poisons. This science enrichment and career explorations program will be held on July 6-11, 2009 (Mon-Sat, 9AM-4PM) on the OSU campus. Through lab experiments, projects, and field trips, students will investigate questions such as: Can we find a “perfect” drug, and if so, what properties would that drug have? What are the similarities and differences between therapeutic drugs and illegal “street” drugs? How do drugs cause addiction? How do our genes play a role in the success or failure of a drug treatment? How do we discover new drugs? The program is open to all rising 10th – 12th grade high school students in the local Columbus area.
