Student Community Service Programming Receives

The Ohio State University chapter of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) has been awarded the 2013 Excellence in Community Service Programming Award by the university.

APhA-ASP conducts numerous service activities throughout communities in Ohio. Through 11 patient care projects, all planned and led by the students, members have partnered with a variety of community partners to deliver quality patient care and health education. Patient care topics have included prescription drug abuse education, diabetes education and screening, heartburn awareness, immunizations, and asthma management.

In addition to providing services to thousands of Ohio Citizens, they are developing skills to supplement their top-tier education at Ohio State.

The students were presented the award on May 2, 2013, at the annual Outreach & Engagement celebrations at the Ohio Union.
