Pills, Potions, & Poisons Summer Course Accepting  ApplicationsThe Ohio State University College of Pharmacy’s Pills, Potions, and Poisons is accepting applications for its Summer 2013 session. The program is designed for high school students and it will be held July 8-13, 2013, in Pharmacy’s Lloyd M. Parks Hall on Ohio State’s main campus.

The course will give rising 10th-12th grade students an overview of pharmacology and its relationship to health, disease, and society. Through a variety of approaches, such as games, field trips, and hands-on experiments, participants will answer questions such as “How do we discover new drugs?”

The day camp is open to students interested in the biomedical sciences, including pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, laboratory research, and others. Applications must include a nomination from a science teacher at their school and a completed application form. The deadline to apply is April 17, 2013. There is a $90 fee per student that includes all supplies, meals, snacks, field trip expenses, and a t-shirt.
